Life Drawing

Life Drawing classes have been the corner stone of practicing artists for centuries. Gallery ONE88 continues this tradition and holds sessions which pay homage to the traditions of the classic art school. ONE88’s Life Drawing nights set the atmosphere for artists to wield pencils and joie de vive in a relaxed and comfortable environment.


Bookings are essential in these exclusive and intimate groups sessions.

Artists are encouraged to bring their own preferred medium and art supplies to participate in the Life Drawing sessions.


Conditions of Participation


  • Artists must book their place via the ticketing portal before participating in the art group

  • Due to the nudity involved, artists must be over 18 years of age.

  • Artists are to be respectful and professional in their behaviour whilst in attendance.

  • Artists are to provide their own materials and tools. Chairs and some drawing donkeys are available but not guaranteed.

  • Strictly NO PHOTOGRAPHY or VIDEO RECORDING allowed while the model is in session

  • Other conditions apply and are posted in the art room.




Night Sessions

Short poses followed by a long pose (traditional)

Every last Wednesday of the month*

7pm - 9pm

Artists are recommended to arrive at 6:30pm

(modelling begins at 7pm sharp).

Day Sessions

Long pose. Suitable for artists using paint, clay or just seeking more time per pose.

Every first Monday of the month*

10am - 2:30pm (includes 30min break)

Artists are recommended to arrive at 9:30am

(modelling begins at 10am sharp).



Bookings are essential and required prior to arriving.

Life Drawing Art Classes

This 6 week class will workshop the practice of drawing the human figure from life. Students will study form, line, and expression using a variety of media and techniques.

You will receive teaching and support from a practising artist, working with props and a professional life model to develop your drawing skills and better understand how to represent the human form in your artwork.

What will be covered in the course

  • Basic principles of drawing from life

  • Structure and form

  • Perspective in the figure

  • Use of tone to create volume

  • Schematic shading techniques

  • Tonal orchestration

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, you should have:

  • an understanding of proportions of the figure

  • skills in how to measure the proportion of the figure

  • experimented with a variety of approaches to the human form

  • learned how to develop personal expression


6 week course held Tuesday night

6:00pm - 9:00pm

Artists are recommended to arrive at 5:45pm for setup
